CCTE Doctoral Colloquium
Preparing for Examination 10/07
Prior questions for the certification examination. Teachers College administers the certification examination for most programs on a set Friday, three times a year (mid-October, mid-February, and mid-June). CCTE doctoral candidates take the morning session, which lasts three hours. Generally, there is one broad question, the same for all CCTE students. You can bring books and notes but it is not useful to spend a lot of time referring to them — we are more interrested in how well you explain and substantiate your ideas than in the precision of your citations. To write a good response you should develop a clearly explained, informative answer to the question posed, not to some other question you hoped would be posed, and you should substantiate your response by entering into effective dialogue with important contributions to the scholarly literature on the aspects of technology and education relevant to the points you seek to make.
